Thanks - that sounds like it would work and I will try sometime in the next few days.Ok, I understand. In that case a workaround could be:
in Akeeba Backup only backup the database, and restore it at the server.
copy all files from your local computer to the server (on Linux you could use the "rsync" command),
and change the configuration.php with the server + database settings.
